I received my sundial by UPS today and it's in my garden already. I love it! This sundial is a memorial to my father who died this past February. My BIL and his wife gave me a check instead of sending flowers at the funeral. They wanted me to put something in our garden to use as a memorial to my father.

I thought about many different ways to use this gift. At first, I was going to buy a rose arbor since my father also grew roses. Then one night it hit me, a sundial! My father had a sundial in his garden with the phrase, 'Grow Old with Me, the Best is Yet to Be'.

"I have used and loved my WoodFlame Grill for a little over five years. My initial unit was a gift from my brother-in-law who owned a pleasure craft and had one on the stern deck; he felt I would love it too. I presently am using my third WoodFlame. I am continually amazed how the grill is ready to use in less than two minutes after igniting the fuel. I have served steak and chicken to friends who feel that it is the best they have ever had! (I agree!). I spent most of my adult life in California and now live in Connecticut. My only regret about the grill is that I did not know about it when I lived in California, as there the out door grilling season is 12 months a year. I am not that fortunate now, but the upside is that I really look forward to bringing the grill out from the garage to my patio, in the spring of the year.

I use oak or apple wood almost exclusively as my fuel; the oak for beef and lamb, and the apple for chicken or fish. My only caution for anyone would be to set the temperature fairly low for chicken or fish so as not to dry it out. As an alternative for fully cooking chicken on my WoodFlame, I have seared it well on both sides, than finished it in a microwave. Steak always amazes me, searing it well on both sides with a checker-board pattern, seems to be about right for medium-rare meat (if the meat is at least ¾ of an inch thick). The whole process for steaks takes a little less than five minutes!

Especially with an almost unlimited supply of hardwood, the economy of grilling with wood is absolutely amazing, and it produces the best tasting grilled food I have ever had."
