With the pivot bolt offset from the natural center line this unique design creates a slicing motion during cutting. The hook shape of the counter blade allows a larger cutting diameter and holds the branch steady during cutting. With the sap groove you will experience less friction and sticking between the blade and counter blade allowing you more quality cutting time.
